This is also my grandson, Ezekiel. Given how distressing haircuts are for him, I was surprised last spring when he came to me and asked for a buzz cut!!!! It turns out that his 1st grade class was working on a ‘living wax museum’ project where they each researched a historical person, did a little report and display about the person they had learned about, then the whole class had an evening where they ‘became’ their person as a wax statue next to their display. All along, this is the vision that Ezekiel had as he researched Martin Luther King, Jr. He had seen many photos and this is why he asked for his haircut! Once he was dressed as he wanted (all black), with a little mustache, this is the way he posed for EVERY photo….”looking sideways like he (MLK, Jr.) was very wise.”
